Yes the t-shirt guy was banned. He was trying to sell his shirts on the soonertimes.com message board. As time passed he got involved with using some of the OU logos which were trademark materials that belonged to OU. We tried to get him to stop doing that as we didn't want it on our site. About the same time the business of people trying to sell t-shirts proliferated. So, the schools found a company that would use bots to continually search websites to find instances where people where trying to copy logos and sell their goods on the internet.
They found SoonerDick's t-shirts on soonertimes.com message board and came after him. My name was on our host site and so I was the one who got the emails from the lawyer for OU. I spent about a week digging up stuff for the lawyers so they could go after him. So, we had zero choice except to bane him.
It was kind of funny because he would try to invent himself with new and different usernames. He could never figure out how we could find his new usernames so fast. Of course we could see his IP addresses which were a dead give away who was posting under the new emails.
SoonerDick wasn't a bad guy. He just couldn't help but wind up taking a lot of stuff from other posters. He loved to post scenarios where he would ask the answer. His problem was that he would post these questions and people would post the answer. Problem was SoonerDick on about half of these posts had the wrong answer to the question he asked. He could never figure out that he was wrong and would argue forever on these posts. It was pretty funny.
